Transition to Primary School
Starting School is a big step for both your child and your family. Here at the Children's Centre we understand you will want to do your best to prepare your child for this new adventure so we have created a Starting School- A guide of parents booklet. It gives lots of support and advice about this big step for children and along with ideas of things parent can do in the home to prepare their child.

Encouraging your child to develop their independence with certain skills is a great way to prepare your child and help them feel confident at school.
One great and fun way to do this is practising putting on their new school uniform and P.E. kit . At our Ready Steady Let’s Go To School group we’ve been practising this.
Practising their dressing skills in general is really positive and below is some more information on how to support your child with this.
